Highlights on the side of the slitted rolls/Customers complained that there were bright spots on the sides of the batch of slitted rolls that were purchased, affecting their subsequent maintenance. In normal slitting, the side of each steel strip can be clearly layered, about 1/3 is bright from top to bottom, and 2/3 is dark, this is because in slitting, the top 1/3 is made by disk shearing, and the surface is smooth, so it is shiny, while the lower 2/3 is the tear layer, the surface is rough, so it is dark. The problem complained by the customer, the bright spot indicates that the shearing at this place is problematic, resulting in an increase in the shearing layer at this place, resulting in a larger bright band, so after the whole roll is taken up, it shows a little from the side A little bit of light. The most likely reason for the bright spots to appear is naturally on the disc cutter. Generally speaking, it may be caused by foreign objects adhering to the disc cutter. Under the same amount of reduction, the shearing layer is enlarged when shearing the place where foreign matter sticks, so bright spots appear. Therefore, the light spot has a periodicity, which is the circumference of the disc shear. The presence of foreign objects may be that the disc cutter has not been cleaned before processing, or it may be dust or metal debris that was caught in the shear. The roughness and burr of the end face at the bright spot may be abnormal. For some precision machining industries, these defects are not allowed to exist. Strictly implement the maintenance procedures of the disc cutter. The disc cutter should be cleaned and wiped before and after use, and it should not be placed in the open air. For the sub-volumes purchased by customers, do scrap treatment.
